Steve Borden (born March 20, 1959), widely known by his ring moniker Sting, is a retired American professional wrestler. He rose to prominence as the iconic figure of two major American wrestling promotions: World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from 1988 to 2001 and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) from 2006 to 2014. Despite the acquisition of WCW by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in 2001, Borden did not join their ranks at the time. Prior to his tenure with WCW, he showcased his talents in various wrestling organizations such as the National Wrestling Alliance’s (NWA) Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP), which evolved into WCW in 1988, as well as the Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF) and the Continental Wrestling Association (CWA). Borden concluded his illustrious career with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) from 2020 to 2024 before retiring.
